Upstate New York is home to the 6 million acre Adirondack Park. Established in 1892 by the State of New York, the Adirondack Park is the largest protected Wilderness Area east of the Mississippi river. This “High Peaks” region hosts 46 mountains higher than 4,000 feet, and is surrounded by 3,000 pristine lakes and over 30,000 miles of streams & rivers. Lake Placid, home of the first Winter Olympics and the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” Olympics, is an approximate 40 minute drive, and offers a wide variety of activities, dining, and shopping.
http://www.adk.orgMy fiancée and I held our wedding ceremony and reception at Partridge Park in July, 2014. We chose the venue not only because of sentimental reasons, but because of the breathtaking Adirondack beauty of the property. A birchwood arch for the ceremony was built for us at the lake, and the guests enjoyed cocktail hour at the huge ramada next to the waterfall. The “aisle” was a grassy, tree-lined path between the lake and waterfall. After the ceremony, photos were taken on the garden bridges and near the old stone chimneys reminiscent of the bygone era when Partridge Park was a camp.
Our reception was held adjacent to the 13 room Adirondack lodge that overlooks a long, sloping hill to Lake Florence, surrounded by huge pine trees. Our guests enjoyed a wonderful evening in the beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, and we could not have been more pleased that we chose to have our wedding at Partridge Park.
